Pueblo La Estrella
The Pueblo La Estrella (small town) is located on the nearby island of Cayo Santa Maria, between the HUSA Cayo Santa Maria Beach Colonial and the Memories Paraiso Beach Resort.
It was inaugurated on December 12nd, 2009. We visited this small village to discover all the services. We have over hundreds of photos (see link below). Several services are offered (area of 65,660 square feet) administered by the Gaviota group (Cuban).

An air-conditioned local with all facilities of conventional gyms. Advertisements displayed in all hotels in Cayo Santa Maria to inform customers of the services at the Pueblo La Estrella. A visit that is worth it!
All hotel guests can enjoy in the Pueblo La Estrella. These services are not part of your all-inclusive package. HOWEVER, the price of drinks and meals are very affordable. To facilitate the transfer from your hotel to this small town, a panoramic bus is available. This bus goes to all hotels, the dolphinariumis panning back and forth between all hotels, the Dolphinarium, the Pueblo Las Dunas and the Pueblo La Estrella. The cost is 1 CUC per person each way. For those who cannot wait for the bus, you can still use a taxi (about 3-4 CUC per trip per taxi, not per person).
You may withdraw CUC from your credit card at the bank (interest will be charged starting this day), BUT your passport is mandatory. A photocopy is not enough, only if you want to exchange currencies in CUC - Convertible Pesos.
Canchanchara ... You must try it?
This is a Trinidad traditional drink (province of Sancti Spiritus). A mixture of crushed ice with Aguardiente (between 29% and 60% alcohol by volume), lemon, mint and the ingredient that makes this drink unique ... pure honey! We loved this cocktail especially served by the pretty Yanecsy. Do not miss visiting the Casa de la Miel.
Among the services offered at the town, there is a nightclub, a live music band and dancers (from 19h30 to 22h00), shops and boutiques, bowling alley, restaurants, parking, bathrooms, etc. The disco (capacity 200 seats) is open from 23h00 to 2h00. The entrance fee is 5 CUC (including 4 CUC of beers or cocktails) or 10 CUC (including 9 CUC of alcoholic beverages) if you buy the ticket at the hotel lobby. However, at entrance of the disco, there is only the 10 CUC package. There is an excellent choice of local and international drinks. The price of alcoholic beverages varies from 2 CUC to 12 CUC and more for premium brands.
It is suggested to book in advance for the « A la carte » restaurants in the Pueblo La Estrella. All the hotels in Cayo Santa Maria offer packages (table d'hote) for their customers interested to eat at the Pueblo. We paid 25 CUC at the hotel Sol Cayo Santa Maria for a « table d'hote » at the Japanese restaurant « Katzura ». We really enjoyed our evening in company with friends. The cost does not include transportation between the hotel and the Pueblo La Estrella.

Since June 1st, 2011, the hotel is no longer administered by Occidental hoteles but rather by Iberostar. The name is now IBEROSTAR ENSENACHOS. A family-oriented resort.
