The international polyclinic in Cayo Santa Maria
Please note that there is no medical offices at the Iberostar Ensenachos as well as the other hotels in the nearby islands!
All medical cares are now offered in one place, a polyclinic providing health services, dentistry, pharmacy and other basic services. The polyclinic is located in the southern part of the island of Cayo Santa Maria, near the hotel Playa Cayo Santa Maria. If you need to see a doctor for an emergency, you can either call the front desk and a doctor (ambulance if necessary) will come to your room, OR you pay a taxi to get to the clinic which is located just minutes away from the hotels.
Note that these services are not part of your all-inclusive package, and you have to pay the bill. However, you will be surprised to see the quality of care (and services) received versus the price. Be sure to advise your insurance company as soon as possible for the care to be authorized, even for a small injuries.
It is therefore, essential to have a medical insurance that covers emergency care. Cuba offers a variety of health insurance packages you can buy when arriving at destination. Some credit cards offer this kind of insurance, but the most recognized in the world is definitively the Blue Cross.
Since May 1st 2010, it is mandatory to have medical insurance to enter Cuba.

The International Clinic works as an evaluation and treatment unity in complete coordination with the National Health System with urgency remissions to the main and major Hospital Centres of Villa Clara Province. If you have more serious injuries, you may go to the hospital in Santa Clara (the same city where the airport is located).
Since June 1st, 2011, the hotel is no longer administered by Occidental hoteles but rather by Iberostar. The name is now IBEROSTAR ENSENACHOS. A family-oriented resort.
